Bronze sculpture commemorated in Almaty as a sign of friendship with Tucson

ALMATY. September 22. KAZINFORM The commemoration of a bronze sculpture, symbolizing friendship between sister-cities Almaty and Tucson, was held at the Kok-Tobe Park in Almaty.
The composition in the form of intertwined apples and cactuses was presented by the American people of the city of Tucson as a gift symbolizing brotherhood with the people of Almaty, the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan said.
The mayor of Almaty, Akhmetzhan Yesimov, the U.S. Charge d'Affaires John Ordway, and an official delegation from Tucson headed by the chairman of the "Tucson-Almaty" sister-city committee, Jerry Gary, participated in the opening ceremony.
