Brazil's Lula starts radiotherapy

BRASILIA. January 4. KAZINFORM Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will begin radiotherapy Wednesday for throat cancer, according to the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Lula has already undergone three sessions of chemotherapy which reduced 75 percent of the tumor. Doctors believed that he has great possibilities to recover.
The radiotherapy sessions will last six to seven weeks. Lula can be considered cured after five years without a recurrence.
The tumor, located at the glottis, was found by doctors during a medical check-up in October 2011.
