He said the written threat was discovered by a flight attendant at around 0200 GMT Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Thai Airways president Piyasawat Amaranand said that the message was written in English with bad grammar.

"The event might create nuisance to passengers but it was more likely to be done by a group of insane people," he said

Flight 794 landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport just before 9 p.m. local time Tuesday evening and was taken to a remote area of the airport where passengers exited the plane and the search was conducted, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Thorough investigation was conducted and there was no evidence to suggest such a threat. All passengers were interviewed and released without detention, Eimiller said.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 18 fire trucks and fire engines were placed on standby at the airport where the aircraft was expected to land.

According to Thai Airways statement, there were 171 passengers, 14 flight attendants and four pilots on board. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
