"The Bolashak program has played a major role in the development of the country. First of all, it formed a new candidate pool for economy, education, science, health care, national culture and art and other spheres. One in two graduates works for Kazakhstani companies today - either private or state, 19% of Bolashak graduates work as managers for national companies and nearly 4% - work in international and non-governmental organizations. One fourth of all Bolashakers work for government institutions and organization.
About two thousand engineers have been trained under the Bolashak scholarship, including those working in the sphere of innovative technologies, metallurgy and communications. The implementation of the industrial and innovative program is aimed at the creation of brand-new enterprises that we've never had before in an attempt to end Kazakhstan's dependence on mineral resources - oil, gas and so on," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
The President stressed that these enterprises need new personnel. "Over the past three and a half years there have been set up 600 new enterprises, 150 more will be commissioned this year," the Kazakh leader added.
