Bodies of 6 miners found in Raspadskaya mine
KEMEROVO. October 4. KAZINFORM The bodies of 6 workers have found in the Raspadskaya mine in the Kemerovo region where an accident occurred this May, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's main department for the Kemerovo region said on Monday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"Information came from the response headquarters that during the work aimed at the liquidation of the accident aftermath, the bodies of six people were found in the mine on October 2 and 3 and lifted to the surface," the department said.
It was earlier reported that five bodies were found.
Two powerful methane explosions occurred one after another in the Raspadskaya mine on the night to May 9. The tragedy claimed the lives of 74 people. For almost five months the fate of 23 miners remained unknown, and 17 miners are still missing.
