BAGHDAD. September 30. KAZINFORM Bomb blasts have killed at least 17 people and injured many more in a Shia Muslim district of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, officials say.
Police say one was a car bomb that tore through a market in Sadr City in the east of the capital.
There has been a recent upsurge in sectarian violence, sparking fears of a return to the bloodletting of 2007 and 2008, Kazinform has learnt from BBC News.
Several dozen people died in a wave of attacks on Sunday.
