Bike ride to be held in Almaty on June 25
ALMATY. June 25. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ Almaty will have a bike ride tomorrow on June 26. The event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan and to the International Day against Drug Abuse. The press service of the city informs.
People willing to take part in the cycling event are invited for the ride that will start at 8:30 a.m. from crossing of Al-Farabi Avenue and Tattimbet street.
The cycling event is aimed at promotion of using bicycles as means of transportation in the largest city of the country.
Taking into account the climate and geographical specifics of the city, its location and the amount of automobile transportation in Almaty the promotion of alternative means of transport is one of the priorities of the city authorities and non-governmental organizations.
