"The main focus of the Bengaluru Space Expo 2010 is to showcase the latest technological advancements, related products and technical services. It will provide a platform for space agencies, specialists, entrepreneurs and space industry heavyweights to display their visions to the decision makers," the official Website of the exhibition says.

An international business conference on space technologies will be held during the Space Expo 2010 involving representatives from Russia, Europe, the United States, Nigeria and other countries.

For the past four decades, India has launched more than 50 satellites for various scientific and technological applications such as mobile communications, meteorological observations and disaster warning.

Earlier in the year India announced its plans to launch an average of 10 satellites per year to meet the demand for various space applications.

The current ambitions of the 47-year-old national space program could vastly expand India's international profile in space and catapult it into a space race with Russia, the United States and China, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru
