Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan to work together in technical regulation of railways

MINSK. November 29. KAZINFORM The railway operators of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum on joint actions that will be carried out as technical regulations of the Customs Union for railway transport come into force. The document was signed in Minsk, the press center of Belarusian Railways told BelTA.

The document envisages cooperation between the railway administrations of the three countries in the technical regulation of railway transport. The document also stipulates mandatory conformance with technical regulations in the Customs Union in addition to the development and improvement of the testing and experimental bases of railway products.

The document was signed by Chief Engineer of Belarusian Railways Valery Shubaderov, Chief Vice President of OAO Russian Railways Valentin Gapanovich, and Managing Director, Chief Engineer of the Kazakh railway operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) Serik Tolebayev, BelTA reports.

A seminar was held in Minsk on 26-27 November to discuss the technical regulation in the area of railway products and infrastructure in the Customs Union. The seminar gathered representatives of the railway administrations of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the State Standardization Committee and the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus, Belarusian and foreign companies, and railway hardware manufacturers.
