Belarus ratifies CSTO military cooperation agreement
MINSK. July 1. KAZINFORM The final sitting of the 6th session of the Council of the Republic ratified a package of documents on the cooperation between CSTO member states in military and industrial complex on 30 June.
According to BelTA, in particular, the Belarusian MPs ratified the agreement on cooperation in designing, manufacturing, exploitation, overhaul, modernization, prolongation of exploitation, and disposal of military goods.
Deputy chairman of the State Military Industry Committee Igor Bykov presented the document in the upper house of the Belarusian Parliament. The document lays down a legal framework for cooperation between defensive industry companies. Apart from that, the document outlines the terms of cooperation in this area.
The session also ratified the agreement on the common principles to set up interstate research and production military facilities within the CSTO.
Igor Bykov stressed that the document creates a legal framework for the creation of research and production facilities to design and manufacture military goods.
The Council of the Republic has also ratified the amendments to the Convention on the Establishment of the Multilateral Investment Guarantees Agency.
