Belarus promises to "immediately" pay Russia for electricity

MINSK. June 29. KAZINFORM Belarus will "immediately " pay for the electricity imported through the Russian company Inter RAO, Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov said Wednesday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"Any respectable person and any respectable state pays its debts, so we of course will pay ours," the minister said of the 21 million U.S. dollar debt.
Snopkov also said that a decision on future imports of electricity will depend on the ratio of the imported electricity cost and that which is produced domestically; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
