Belarus pays off $43.75m in interest to Eurobond holders

MINSK. August 3. KAZINFORM The Finance Ministry of Belarus made the first Eurobond coupon payment worth $43.75 million. The maiden floatation of Eurobonds took place in August 2010, BelTA learnt from the Finance Ministry; Kazinform refers to BelTA.

"On 2 August 2011 Belarus fulfilled its obligations and made the first coupon payment worth $42.75 million to holders of five-year Eurobonds placed on 3 August 2010," the Finance Ministry informed.

A reminder, in July last year Belarus issued five-year Eurobonds for $600 million, with a coupon rate at 8.75% per annum. The bonds mature in 2015. Coupon yield is paid on 3 February and 3 August each year.

Leading organizers of Belarus' Eurobonds issue were BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Sberbank of Russia.
