Belarus' MPs to attend parliamentary sessions of CIS, CSTO, EurAsEC in S. Petersburg

MINSK. November 27. KAZINFORM Saint Petersburg will host sessions of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the EurAsEC Interparliamentary Assembly on 27-29 November. The National Assembly of Belarus will take part in the sessions, BelTA learnt from the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

The Belarusian parliamentary delegation will take part in the session of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the plenary session of the assembly. Chairman of the Permanent Commission for Education, Culture and Science of the House of Representatives Gennady Palchik is expected to speak at the plenary session. Other Belarusian MPs will present reports at the plenary session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the CIS Youth Interparliamentary Assembly and will take part in the advisory panel of experts at the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the international conferences "Nuclear security in the modern world. The role of parliaments in nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation" and "Information security legislation of the CSTO member states: experience, problems and harmonization prospects".

The participants of the plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will discuss over 20 matters, including the legal framework for the international environmental safety system in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The MPs will also discuss several draft model laws (extrajudicial dispute resolution), protection of intangible cultural heritage, electronic documents, new versions of the model Education Code and the Tax Code of the CIS member states, BelTA reports.

The session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will discuss efforts to maintain collective security in the CSTO and the new stage of development of the organization's parliamentary dimension. During the session of the EurAsEC Interparliamentary Assembly Bureau, the MPs will discuss the goals, tasks and objectives of the coordinated agribusiness policy in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space, the implementation of the joint action plan of the EurAsEC Interparliamentary Assembly and the Eurasian Economic Commission, recommendations to harmonize the laws regulating the movement of personal effects across the borders of the EurAsEC member states.
