Belarus, Kazakhstan agree on new joint projects, contracts

ASTANA.  November 12. KAZINFORM Companies of Belarus and Kazakhstan signed a package of new agreements on cooperation and agreed on new contracts as the governmental delegation of Belarus led by Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich paid an official visit to Kazakhstan.

In particular, Belorusneft and NC KazMunaiGaz agreed to use Belarusian latest technologies at the Kazakhstani oil deposits. Seismotekhnika and Akor Company outlined a project for a joint production of oilfield equipment in East Kazakhstan Oblast.

The parties also considered NC KazMunaiGaz possible participation in the Mogilevkhimvolokno upgrade project. A project was discussed with Kazakhstani businessmen to launch the production of terephthalic acid at Mogilevkhimvolokno. Belarus suggested setting up a joint company as part of the project. The total investment is estimated at $1 billion.

BelAZ signed supply contracts for $11.6 million worth of dump trucks. The Brest Electromechanical Plant and Motordetal signed an agreement on equipment supply and joint production. Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman signed agreements with Zamash Company on the supply of tobacco products to Kazakhstan. Belwest discussed with Kazakhstani partners an opportunity of joint production of footwear at one of the leather plants of Kazakhstan. Mogilevliftmash and Irtyshlift coordinated the supplies of lifts and equipment to the joint company next year, BelTA reported.

Apart from that, an agreement has been signed between Dorelectromash and Virazh Holding Company on licensing production of MTZ detachable equipment in Kazakhstan. 

The First Minsk Battery Farm, Gomel and Orsha battery farms plan to open a joint trading house in Kazakhstan. Mogilevkhlebprom signed an agreement on the delivery of confectionary to Kazakhstan in 2013.
