«Barys» in finals of President's Cup
ASTANA. August 13. KAZINFORM — Kazakhstan's hockey club "Barys" has won "Vityaz" from Podolsk (Russia) at the President's Cup in Astana, the correspondent of Vesti.kz informs.
For the capital's club this success was the third in a row giving access to the final of the tournament. With this in mind, Ari-Pekka Selin, head coach of Barys, removed from the application list for the match a number of leading players: Brandon Bochenski, Nigel Dawes, Fedor Polishchuk, Talgat Zhailauov, Konstantin Pushkarev and Mike Landin. At the same time, more playing time had young athletes including Josh Gratton, a tough guy.
It bears to remind that Barys kicked off with two victories in the tournament and single-handedly led the standings. In addition, the capital's club twice won the President's Cup and only last year the trophy was taken to St. Petersburg by SKA team. Online plays can be watched on KazSport and KHL-TV channels.
