Baku to host 12th ECO Summit: Kazakh MFA's spokesman
ASTANA. October 15. KAZINFORM The 12th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is to be held tomorrow in Baku.
Altai Abibullayev, spokesperson of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, announced at a weekly briefing on Monday.
"The summit is to focus on the development of regional economic ties in the field of transport, agriculture, energy and environmental protection as well as integration of the ECO member countries, socio-cultural and scientific and technical development. The Baku Declaration is expected to be adopted in follow-up of the top-level meeting," A. Abibullayev noted.
The event will bring together presidents of Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkey's prime minister and reps of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Askar Zhumagaliyev, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, is to head our delegation at the summit, according to the MFA's spokesman.
