Baikonur should become int'l innovation brand
PAVLODAR. September 19. KAZINFORM "Baikonur should become an international innovation brand, a symbol of a brand new stage in the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Russia," President Nursultan Nazarbayev said addressing the IX Interregional Cooperation Forum of Kazakhstan and Russia in Pavlodar.
"Space cooperation is the key direction for the development of the industries of the future. Baikonur should become an international innovation brand. We could have set up a new unique platform for scientific and technological cooperation such as Baikonur Innovation Fund for peaceful space exploration. Besides, Kazakhstan is interested in creating specific laboratories in Astana," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
"It is crucial to draft also a long-term program for cosmodrome shared use containing Baikonyr town modernization issues," the Head of State stressed.
