Badger attacks pensioner in North Kazakhstan
PETROPAVLOVSK. May 25. KAZINFORM /Sergey Kuznetsov/ A 61-year-old woman in North Kazakhstan region got serious injuries as she was attacked by a badger, regional internal affairs department says.
The woman, who lives in Aktuyesai village of Ualikhanov municipality, was bitten by the badger on the backyard of her house yesterday morning. She doesn't know where this badger came from. She began screaming. A dog responded to her screams and rushed to defend her. At the same time her husband ran out of the house and stabbed the animal with a pitchfork.
The badger bit off a finger on the woman's left hand. Besides, she got an open fracture of the third finger of two hands, numerous injuries and abrasions.
The woman was taken to the hospital of Kishkenekol village.
The carcass of the dead animal was sent for a veterinary expertise, which will probably explain its aggression.
