B.Sagintayev announced Kazakhstan's proposals during Central Asian countries consultation on Rogun HPP
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Almaty has hosted the fifth round of consultations on the construction of Rogun hydro power plant, the press service of the Kazakh Prime Minister reported.
The event was participated by Vice Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. The Kazakh delegation was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzshan Sagintayev. The meeting discussed the mechanisms of transboundary water resources management. The event's participants considered the preliminary report of the World Bank related to Rogun project. It should be noted that Kazakhstan has actively partaken in the preparation of the report. During the meeting, the Kazakh side has presented a number of proposals in terms of strengthening the mechanisms of cooperation among all riparian countries. Following the talks, the parties agreed to hold another meeting which will consider the final report of the World Bank. Rogun HPP is the hydroelectric station located in Tajikistan on the Vakhsh River.
