Azerbaijan hosts Silk Road countries International Forum
GABALA. November 14. KAZINFORM - 6th International Forum on the Role of Customs Administrations in Promoting and Facilitating Trade among Silk Road Countries kicked off in Gabala on November 14, APA reports.
The forum is attended by officials of the customs service of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Italy, Moldova, Serbia and Uzbekistan, as well as 33 representatives of five international organizations – the Asian Development Bank, the World Customs Organization, the International Road Transport Union, the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States and International Network of Customs Universities.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani Customs Union Aydin Aliyev, Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade Hayati Yazici, Deputy Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States Gismat Gozalov and representative of TRACECA Secretariat addressed the event.
The forum aims to facilitate border crossing procedures, carry out exchange of experience on transit systems in Silk Road countries and customs-business cooperation and discuss the topics such as “Opportunities and prospects of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA)” on WCO SAFE Framework of Standards (Integrated Border Management), “Karvansara” projects, “General transit”, “Transport corridor in OIC countries”, “Modernization of the land border gates of Turkey”, “Facilitation of Integrated Trade”, “Coordinated Customs Management”, “Customs reforms:
Gabala Declaration will be adopted at the end of the two-day forum.
