Azarenka reaches Olympics quarterfinals

MINSK. August 2. KAZINFORM World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus took third victory at the Olympics tennis tournament, BelTA has learnt.
In the round of the last 16 the best Belarusian tennis player defeated Russia's Nadezhda Petrova (No. 23) 7-6, 6-4. The match lasted for an hour and 54 minutes.
Victoria Azarenka made hard work of her first-round win against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu (No. 79), 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. Then marking her 23rd birthday she beat Spain's Maria Martinez Sanchez 6-2, 6-1. The Belarusian will next face Germany's Angelique Kerber (No. 7) who defeated Venus Williams of the U.S. (No. 72) 7-6, 7-6.
