ATM service technician steals $106,000 in Zhambyl rgn
ASTANA. October 23. KAZINFORM - In Taraz town of Zhambyl region, ATM service technician has stolen from the bank he worked at USD 106,000 within a few months.
Most of the money he lost gambling. The incident was reported today in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"The police office of Taraz town was appealed by the administration of one of the banks with the statement that opening an ATM the bank employees found more than KZT 1 million loss. In the course of search operations by the officers of the Internal Affairs, there was detained a 32-year resident of the town who worked as ATM service technician", said Nurdilda Oraz, the official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan at a weekly briefing in Astana.
The investigation revealed that the suspect began stealing money from August the current year. The total damage amounted to more than KZT 16 million", announced the official representative of the Ministry.
According to the detainee, he lost money gambling.
