Astana will turn into international metropolis by 2050 - member of Silk Road Peace Prize Committee Yao Peisheng

The rapid development of Astana shows the wise decision taken by President Nursultan Nazarbayev 20 years ago. The decision to shift the capital from Almaty to Akmola was adopted in 1994. Nursultan Nazarbayev has made an outstanding contribution to the development of Chinese-Kazakhstani relations, maintaining stability in the region. He is the leader of the people of Kazakhstan and reliable and sincere friend of the Chinese people, Yao Peisheng said. Recall that the awarding ceremony of "Silk Road Peace Award" held in Shanghai on the evening of May 19th. "Silk Road Peace Award" is presented to the people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to world peace, regional stability and common development. As an active driver of regional dialogue and communication, President Nazarbayev received the award before the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
