Astana to host 5th Congress of World Religious Leaders in June 2015

"The decision to hold the 5th Congress in June 2015 in the Kazakh capital was made after extensive discussions with 30 delegates - representatives of all confessions - at the meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions last week," Vice Minister Azikhanov said. In his words, during the discussions the delegates mainly focused on the topic of the upcoming event in Astana. "The next Congress will be themed Dialogue of religious leaders and politicians for the sake of peace and development. Undoubtedly, it takes into account all present problems and conflicts in the world," Mr. Azilkhanov added. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, representatives of Vatican and many others are set to attend the Congress next year.
