Astana to host 1st National championship on mixed martial arts MMA

ASTANA. August 23. KAZINFORM - Astana will host the first national championship for a mixed martial arts MMA, as it has been announced by Alexey Kim, President of the Republican Federation of jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts MMA, during a press conference held today in Astana.
"Earlier in Kazakhstan there were mostly carried out club and interclub competitions. On June 26 of the current year MMA and Jiu-Jitsu were officially recognized in Kazakhstan and included in the register of sports of Kazakhstan.
On August 24-25 in Astana will be held Kazakhstan's first national MMA championship. More than 120 athletes in six weight categories have applied for participation in the championship on mixed martial arts", said Kim.
