Astana to hold 8th session of secretariat of religious congress
ASTANA. June 26. KAZINFORM. The VIII sitting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions under the chairmanship of its head - Kazakh Senate Speaker Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will be held in Astana on June 29-30.
Representatives of main confessions and spiritual organizations of the world will discuss the draft agenda and program of the oncoming religious forum. The issues concerning the draft appeal of the Congress participants will be considered as well.
As is known, the VII sitting of the Secretariat took place in Almaty in October 2008.
The 8th session will become one more step toward achievement of religious consent, initiated in 2003 by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and backed by the international community.
