Astana seminar to focus on ethics and corruption prevention in judiciary

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The national seminar and roundtable meeting on ethics and corruption prevention in the judiciary will take place on November 17- 18 in Astana.

The aim of the event is to strengthen the capacity of Kazakhstan's judiciary system in understanding professional ethics and adopting preventive measures against corruption. International and national experts will be reviewing best international standards of the judicial behavior, professional ethics, and innovative approaches for the prevention of corruption in the judiciary and assessing the degree of transparency and the level of public satisfaction with the activities of judges. The event is organized by the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, OSCE Centre in Astana, UNODC, Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.

The activity follows earlier implemented awareness-raising and capacity-building exercises by the Centre in the sector of anti-corruption and go in line with its the priorities. The Centre in Astana facilitates the event by providing national experts and international experts from Latvia, the press service of the OSCE Centre in Astana said.
