Astana may host consultations on Iran's nuclear issue

ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan puts forward the candidacy of Astana to host the next meeting of the 5+1 group on the Iran's nuclear program, Kazakh Foreign Ministry's official spokesman Altay Abibullayev told a weekly briefing.

"Kazakhstan has consistently advocated the settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue and exclusively in a diplomatic manner. While supporting the right of Tehran to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, we stand for the implementation of this in accordance with the requirements and under the supervision of the IAEA. Following recent consultations in Moscow in the 5 +1 format a regular meeting of experts will be held in Istanbul. Like many other capitals of the world, we put forward the candidacy of Astana to host the next meeting of the 5 +1 group on the Iran's nuclear program," said A.Abibullayev.
