Astana locomotive assembly plant awarded Altyn Sapa prize
ASTANA. December 21. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Within the awarding ceremony of the best enterprises of the country held in Astana today Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has presented "Altyn Sapa" ("Gold Quality") Prize to a representative of Astana locomotive assembly plant of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC in the category "Best Production Company".
The locomotive plant is the first enterprise on locomotive production in Astana. Designed capacity of the plant is 100 diesel locomotives of Evolution series per year.
"Altyn Sapa" national contest and the Prize of the President of Kazakhstan "For achievements in quality" were established in 2006 by the decree of the President. In 2009 the contest and prize were united.
New categories - "Industrial Breakthrough" and "Innovative Breakthrough" were introduced this year at the initiative of the President.
