Astana lacks elementary school teachers

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Astana reports severe shortage of elementary school and day-care facility teachers," Astana maslikhat deputy Zaure Zhussupova said.
"The primary cause of such a shortage is insufficient financing of this field leading thus to low motivation and lack of occupational prestige. Outflow of professionals is broadly attributed to low pay. For example, an elementary school teacher earns KZT 35,740 (approx. USD 195)," she added.
