Astana is ready to host 2017 World Petroleum Congress: German experts
BERLIN. October 2. KAZINFORM "Astana as the host city of the 22nd World Petroleum Congress in 2017" conference was organized by the Kazakh Embassy in Berlin. Heads of German ministries and agencies, business and mass media were invited.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov and Vice Chairman of the Kazenergy Association Dzhambulat Sarsenov delivered the keynote speeches at the event.
The Kazakhstani diplomat told guests about the main aspects of the economic policy of the country in the context of the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy, mentioned key directions of the Kazakhstani-German cooperation, and asked German partners to support Astana's bid to host the World Petroleum Congress in 2017.
Mr. Sarsenov made detailed presentation of Kazakhstan's potential in the sphere of extraction, processing and transportation of oil as well as its extensive experience in hosting of big high-profile international events.
In their turn, the German experts and officials highly estimated the role and significance of Kazakhstan in the provision of energy security in Europe and Germany and stressed that Astana as the 2017 candidate city is ready to host the world's premier oil & gas forum.
