Astana hosts international fencing tournament

For the fourth time the capital joined strong masters of sabers, rapiers and swords from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia. Teams from different regions of Kazakhstan are taking part in the event. There are about 200 athletes. For the next 5 days the athletes will compete in individual and team standings for 18 sets of medals. The first day results suggest that Kazakhstani fencers are leading in the team standing. The tournament is the rating and will allow athletes to gain the necessary points for passing into the national team. Moreover, "Astana kylyshy 2014" is another opportunity for Kazakh athletes to test their readiness for the Asian Games, which will start on September 19 at the South Korean Incheon.
