Astana hosts 14th National Congress of German Teachers of Kazakhstan

The motto of the Congress is "New methods - a great success, both in digital media, with or without them."

The program  consists of seminars, divided into four thematic blocks, reports of the participants of the many schools and universities in different cities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Germany and Austria.

The range of topics presented to the reports is quite wide, including the use of contemporary music and podcasting in language teaching, applying the lessons of digital media and advantages and disadvantages of computer-based testing, as well as potential applications for the Web 2.0 in teaching German as a foreign language.

According to the director of the information center of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) of Kazakh-German University Michael Jaumann a lot of programs for the study of German language and the exchange of students involved between Kazakhstan and Germany. Besides, 120 scholarships for citizens of Kazakhstan were provided last year.

"Today's conference aims to exchange information. Between the two countries, there are many scholarships and grants for those wishing to be trained in Germany, " M.Yaumann said.

"However, an important place at this event is the exchange of experience among teachers in the teaching of the German language itself,"  M.Yaumann added.

The organizers are the German partner organizations, together with the National Union of German teachers with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
