Astana Green Bridge Initiative is outstanding example of interregional cooperation - UN Under-Secretary General
ASTANA. September 30. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The Astana Green Bridge Initiative is an outstanding example of interregional cooperation. Under-Secretary General of the United Nations Noeleen Heyzer gave such estimation to the Kazakh initiative on regions' unification in the field of environmental protection in a press conference.
"I want to thank Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev for personal participation in the Astana Green Bridge Initiative. It is a bold decision and an attempt to unite Europe and Asia-Pacific region. I am pleased that Kazakhstan heads such movement", Noeleen Heyzer said.
Noeleen Heyzer noted that a "bridge" was always perceived as a symbol of unification. "I am confident that a specific plan and initiative will be adopted", she said.
