Astana conf to focus on progress of reforms in public planning and administration

ASTANA. October 29. KAZINFORM On November 2, Friday, Astana will host the II International Conference on issues of public administration performance and reforms in state planning and administration.

Since 2010 the system of annual performance assessment has been implemented in all central and regional state authorities of Kazakhstan. For the last two years assessment results show the need for further reform and improve the results-based strategic, budget and program planning, monitoring and evaluation of government programs, orientation of public services to the consumer, the UNDP Kazakhstan said.

At the Conference, representatives of authoritative bodies will discuss the approaches to assessment, experience of conducting performance analysis, as well as achieved results and drawn conclusions. A group of international experts will share the international experience and best practices in public administration. A separate session will focus on cooperation with public sector in conducting analysis and monitoring of public administration.

Central and local state authorities, deputies of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, non-governmental organizations and mass media will take part in the panel discussion.

Among the speakers: Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration B.Baibek, Deputy Ministers of Transport and Communication S. Akhmetov, Finance B. Sholpankulov, Senior Secretary of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade D. Shazhenova, Deputy Resident Reprehensive of UNDP E. Paniklova.

The Conference is held as part of joint project of the United Nations Development Programme, Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is aimed to improve the assessment system and accountability of state authorities.
