Astana can demonstrate various forms of CIS cultural self-expression: Russian Culture Minister
ASTANA. June 15. KAZINFORM Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky said that Astana had a unique opportunity to demonstrate various forms of cultural self-expression of the CIS member countries.
He made it public while addressing the International Forum "Eurasian Culture in the New World" on Friday (June 15) in Astana.
Vladimir Medinsky greeted the participants of the forum and noted that Astana was proclaimed 'the CIS Cultural Capital -2012'. The Interstate Program "Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth" is one of the brightest projects in the field of humanitarian cooperation in the Eurasian space.
"Eurasia is the territory of historical co-existence of various civilizations and cultures and that is why the forum initiated by Kazakhstan should become a new stage on the way to uniting the efforts of the cultural community to expand the cultural ties, promote joint humanitarian values, raise awareness and interest of the international community in conducing joint cultural events in Eurasia.
I am confident our efforts in this respect will bring results and we will be able to enrich our cultures.
I wish all the participants success in further cooperation, fruitful work and implementation of the joint programs and projects in the sphere of culture," Russian Culture Minister added.
