Astana and Saint Petersburg signed an agreement on cooperation for 2013-2015

ASTANA. November 13. KAZINFORM - Today in the capital Astana city akim Imangali Tasmagambetov and the governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko, who arrived as the head of the delegation, have signed an agreement on cooperation for the next two years, astana.kz reports.

Their partnership provides for the wide range of interaction in spheres of urban planning, municipal economy, entrepreneurship, tourism and other spheres of activity.

Imangali Tasmagambetov, Astana city akim:
After the Customs Union was accepted, dynamics of internal trade between Russia and Kazakhstan has been very serious. Over 8 months of the current year there are 15,2 bln dollars - it’s a very good exponent. As I know, about 4000 companies in Kazakhstan work with the participation of Russian capital, as I’ve said, we have very close relations”.

Georgy Poltavchenko, governor of Saint Petersburg (Russia):
Kazakhstan today is the third partner for Saint Petersburg from the CIS countries. Commodity turnover in 2012 amounted to approximately 650 million dollars, this year we see increase by 24%, in my opinion, this is very good dynamics”.

So, informational business centers are to be opened in both cities. Even today the parties have agreed on creation of a new trade and business complex “Astana” in Saint Petersburg. In addition, it’s planned to organize expositions of Astana and Saint Petersburg in the two cities.
