Astana and Nice are twin cities

The document is aimed at establishment of partnership between the cities of Astana and Nice Côte d'Azur on the base of mutual understanding and equality.
The parties have negotiated on cooperation in the number of priority directions. In particular, Astana and Nice are interested in widening of trade and economical cooperation development of relations in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, education, professional training and others .

One of the main cooperation sectors between the two cities will be tourism; the parties expressed readiness in stimulation of experience exchange in order to develop touristic infrastructure and establish business contacts between tour operators.

To establish business contacts the Act of Friendship provides for organization of economical and financial forums and business meetings in Nice and Astana, which will contribute to activization of companies' work and investments attracting.

One of the important items of the signed document is a cooperation agreement to open a business office representing economical interests of Kazakhstan at Côte d'Azur.

A separate direction for joint work will be implementation of projects in the field of city transport, sustainable development, innovative city technologies, telecommunications and energetic safety, relating to strategic priorities in connection with EXPO-2017.

Within the framework of "The year of France in Kazakhstan" in 2013, "The year of Kazakhstan in France" in 2014, and "International exhibition Astana-2017" the parties intend to contribute to regular informational and cultural exchange, holding of artistic exhibitions and seminars. In addition, Astana and Nice expressed their interest in development of cooperation between universities of the two cities, encouragement of students exchange and assistance in personnel training, in particular, in the field of resource management and state services.
