Asian Games Flame arrives in Astana
ASTANA. January 29. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ The VII Winter Asian Games Flame has arrived in Astana today. Spectacular meeting ceremony was held in the Palace of Peace and Accord.
"We all were excited and looking forward to this day. Today the Flame is in Astana", head of Astana Directorate of the Torch Relay Nail Nurov said.
The Asian Flame has been travelling around Kazakhstan for 20 days. The final stage of the Torch Relay will start in Astana tomorrow, January 30.
The final stage of the Torch Relay will start on the square near Kazak Eli monument at 12:00 pm. The Flame will travel around the streets of the new administrative center of Astana. After a two-hour break the relay will be continued on the Old Square. Here the relay will be started by Kazakhstan's ice hockey player, member of the national team and "Barys" hockey team Talgat Zhailauov. The Torch will be carried along Abai Avenue, Republic Avenue to River Yesil. Further the Flame will travel along Turan Avenue to Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center where the second stage of the relay finishes.
After a technical break the fire will be transported to Astana-Arena Stadium. The opening ceremony of the Asian Games will be held there.
