ArselorMittalTemirtau comissioned second stage of dust removal equipment
KARAGANDA. June 11. KAZINFORM - "ArselorMittalTemirtau" company has implemented the second phase of the project on ecological reconstruction of dust removal equipment within agglomerative production, the press service of the company reports.
"On June 11, 2013 in the "ArcelorMittalTemirtau " JSC agglomerative production area there were commissioned bag filters behind the cooling zone sintering machine number 6 and hot testing started. Besides there have been carried out works concerning installation of bag filters for agglomachines number 7", says the statement.
In order to reduce the environmental impact, it has been decided to replace the dust removal equipment with more modern one, which purification degree reaches 99.5%.
"The project started three years ago. In September 2012 new baghouse sintering machine number 5 was put into operation", the press-service of the company reports.
"With implementing the project the environmental situation in Temirtau will improve significantly as the activities will prevent the release of more than 1,500 tons of dust per year", emphasized the representative of the company.
"Owing to new installations all dust that is produced upon receipt of the agglomerate is captured and purified. Bag filters allow to reduce dust emissions by 500 tons per year", commented Victor Koberhe, the director on safety and environment of "ArcelorMittalTemirtau" JSC.
