Armenia to host int'l film festival in mid-July
ASTANA. June 25. KAZINFORM Eighteen countries will take part in this year's Golden Apricot International Film Festival to be held next month in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan, according to organizers. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
These countries will present 25 films which had been sorted out from a total of 135 films sent to the organizers for a pre-screening. The formal screening will be held in between July 10 and 17.
This year's film festival, the eighth edition in Armenia, will have a new competition for short films as well.
Film critic Thierry Lenouvel from France has been invited to be the jury president of the film festival and the jury will include Russian film expert Olga Shervud and Canadian/Armenian film specialist Garine Torossian.
Participating countries in this year's Golden Apricot will be Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Honduras, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Syria, Turkey and the United States. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
