ArcelorMittal Temirtau remains leader of iron industry of Kazakhstan: N.Nazarbayev
TEMIRTAU. July 2. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" Metalurical Pant remains the leading enterprise of the ion industry of Kazakhstan", Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev said at the meeting devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Plant on Friday.
According to the President, metallurgists and leadership of the company have maid great contribution to it. "The company got through many difficulties during last 50 years. The first decade of successful development gave way to the severe crisis after collapse of the Soviet Union. In such tough economic conditions the enterprise had to find a foreign investor", the President said.
The investor managed to stabilize the production and ensure decent future for the company. The President emphasized the fact that the enterprise worked out strategic development plan till 2015. "The strategic development plan supposes increase of the steel production by 6 mln tons per year. USD 40 mln will be invested to development of the company this year. This is the beginning of realization of a big project on development and modernization of ArcelorMittal Temirtau", the Head of the State said.
N.Nazarbayev expressed assurance that the company would contribute to the realization of the forced industrial-innovative development strategy of Kazkahstan till 2020.
