Appropriate market conditions needed for electric power industry - Majilis Speaker
ASTANA. March 28. KAZINFORM In accordance with the President's instruction, electric power industry must be put in appropriate market conditions, Chairman of the Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin stated at a plenary sitting of the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament on Wednesday.
The sitting approved the draft law "On amendments to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on the issues of electric power, investment activity of the subjects of natural monopolies and regulated markets." The Majilismen included a number of amendments into the bill, which were supported by the Government. The proposed amendments will enable to ensure reliable and uninterrupted supply of electrical and thermal energy to consumers.
"Without modernization and reconstruction of thermal power plants we may face energy collapse," N.Nigmatulin said.
