“All authorized bodies, whether they are relevant ministries, akimats, or law enforcement agencies, must clearly perform their functions and coordinate their work. It is necessary to understand that the foundation of a happy childhood has always been and will always be the family institution,” President Tokayev emphasized in his remarks.

According to the Head of State, nowadays the roots of many problems and vices in our society lie in the decreasing involvement of parents in the process of raising a child. The growing digital dependence of our children, their excessive immersion in the virtual world, is becoming a real disaster.

“Any tragedy involving our children always resonates with pain in my heart. I immediately draw the attention of state bodies to such cases, give appropriate instructions, and keep their implementation under constant control,” said the President.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev went on to point out that modern technologies undoubtedly open up broad horizons for development, but at the same time, they bring real dangers into our lives. In his words, popular social networks can turn not only children but even adults into real zombies.

“Parents should not shift the responsibility for raising a child onto the state and schools or, even more so, trust gadgets with this task. It is the parent’s responsibility to teach their child the basic rules of digital hygiene. It is crucial to pay attention to children, spend time with them, and discuss topics that concern them. It is necessary to strictly control what the child is doing on their smartphone or computer. Overall, I believe that a public campaign should be launched in the country to promote the idea of responsible parenting,” underscored the President.

Consistent with his words, President Tokayev gave an instruction to the authorized state bodies to take effective measures to comprehensively ensure the safety of the younger generation.

He also pointed to the need to popularize the real-life heroes among children and teenagers. “A great example in this regard is the recent grand success of our female chess players at the World Olympiad. Our children receive top honors at Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics, and other subjects. We need to support such talented children and encourage their teachers,” added the President.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, the future of the country is in the hands of the youth.

“I have said this many times. Everything we do is for their benefit. Therefore, we all must pay special attention to the health, education, and upbringing of children. The state is taking systematic measures in this direction: all necessary resources are allocated, all infrastructure is created. Overall, we can say that this work is in full swing, but the tasks ahead of us are large-scale, and there is still a lot of work to be done,” he added.
