ANSA: COVID: Record infections, almost 22,000, 221 victims

ROME. KAZINFORM Tuesday saw a fresh record in the number of daily COVID infections in Italy at 21,994, the health ministry said.
Some 174,398 swabs were taken, ANSA reports.
The daily death toll was 221.
Italy is enduring a second wave of the virus.
New government restrictions have prompted a backlash with widespread protests, some of them violent.
