Another copy of Holy Quran manuscript found in U.S. library

Another copy of the manuscript of the Holy Quran of the Timurid era has been discovered in one of the largest libraries in the United States, UzA reports citing the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

This was stated by Professor Karim Ifrak from the French National Centre for Scientific Research during an online meeting with representatives of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

Professor Karim Ifrak participated in the 8th International Congress “The Legacy of the Great Ancestors: The Foundation of the Third Renaissance” and the International Week of Cultural Heritage in 2024, where he presented interesting information about a rare colored manuscript of the Holy Quran of the Timurid era. Currently, this manuscript is included in the Center for Islamic Civilization projects.

At the meeting, Mr. Ifrak announced that another copy of this manuscript had been found in one of the largest libraries in the United States. He also expressed willingness to cooperate with the Center on “Manuscripts of the Holy Quran of the Timurid period”.

The meeting was attended by Senior Researcher at the Center for Islamic Civilization, Azimjon Gafurov, Head of the International Relations Department, Izzat Ibragimov, and Scientific Secretary of the center, Rustam Jabbarov.

Professor Karim Ifrak stressed that he plans to participate in international conferences in the future and present the results of his research. It was also announced about the preparations for publishing his new book “The Prophet of Islam: Five Centuries in The Eyes of the Greatest Western Thinkers”.

As reported, a delegation of Uzbekistan participated for the first time in Scandinavia’s most prominent travel fair - Danish Travel Show.
