Angry Barys coach chucks water bottle at opposing player

INFORM - Andrei Nazarov, the fieriest coach in the KHL -- maybe the world, is at it again. After previous run-ins with fans and referees, the Barys head coach turned his ire to an opposing player in a recent game against Ak Bars Kazan.

After Alexander Svitov, who you may know as a notable NHL Draft bust as a third overall pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, dropped the gloves with Barys' 19-year-old defenseman Damir Ryspayev, Nazarov was beside himself. Svitov is 32. Nazarov shouted at Svitov from the bench and when Svitov shot back, the Barys coach chucked his water bottle right at the Ak Bars forward, Kazinform has learnt from CBSSports.com .

That earned Nazarov an ejection, which he didn't take kindly to, yelling at the officials in English, "Learn [expletive] Russian. You're in Russia, OK?" One of the referees is Finnish, so he was speaking English to the head coach. After hemming and hawing, Nazarov eventually took a seat. We'd call Nazarov the John Tortorella of the KHL, but that's probably not fair to Torts. After all, he never attacked opposing fans with a stick. Nazarov played in 571 games in the NHL and racked up 1,409 penalty minutes. He has been a KHL head coach for six seasons.
