Amir Omarkhanov wins at the start of ITF M15 Monastir 2025 Tennis Tournament

Kazakhstani Amir Omarkhanov, ranked 1036th by the ATP, has stormed into the second round of the ITF M15 Monastir 2025 Tennis Tournament in Tunisia, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

In the first round, Omarkhanov beat Algerian Samir Hamza Reguig (ranked 668th) with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (9:7), 7:5. The match lasted for more than three hours.

In the second round, he will face Luca Castagnola from Italy.

The cash prize of the tournament is $15,000.

Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstani tennis player Yulia Putintseva significantly improved her position in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) doubles rankings. She  climbed 24 spots up to reach the 81st position, setting a new personal record.
