American experts call to hold OSCE Summit within Kazakhstan's presidency in Organization

ASTANA. July 16. KAZINFORM One of the most influential American think-tanks - the Atlantic Council presented publications on the OSCE Summit initiated by Kazakhstan and the situation in Kyrgyzstan published upon the results of recently held trip of a delegation headed by President of the Council Frederick Kemp to Vienna, Astana and Bishkek. The presentation was devoted to the informal meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers scheduled for July 16-17 in Almaty, the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in the USA reports.

During the presentation special attention was paid to the increasing role of Eurasia in the OSCE space and the importance of Central Asia in terms of the events in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.

As the participants of the presentation noted, Central Asia becomes more important for the USA taking into consideration its history, current state and backgrounds for further development. In particular, the issues of closer cooperation of the USA and its trans-atlantic partners with Central Asia and possible consequences of insufficient attention to the region were discussed.

The leadership of the Atlantic Council emphasized the importance of conduction of the OSCE Summit during the period of Kazakhstan's presidency in the Organization noting the USA must pay special attention to the Organization at the top level.
