Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria meets with President of Austrian Economic Chamber

During the meeting the Kazakh diplomat informed the President of the Chamber of the progress in implementation of the Action Plan approved by the KZ Government on minimization of the world financial crisis on the Kazakhstan?s economy. According to the President of the Austrian Economic Chamber taking into account the leading positions of Kazakhstan in Central Asia the Austrian business circles express interest in cooperation with our country not only in the energy sphere. In particular, they are interested in joint projects in engineering, metallurgy, air and railway transport, pharmaceuticals, production of construction materials, agriculture, tourism and banking. In this connection Christoph Leitll informed of the measures to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and his agency. In particular, he expressed intention to open the representation of the Austrian Economic Chamber under the Embassy of Austria in Kazakhstan in 2009. He also informed that the Days of Kazakhstan?s Economy will be held in Austria this year along with the session of Kazakh - Austrian Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation. In addition, a tour of the representative delegation of the Austrian business circles to Astana and Almaty is scheduled in November, 2009. At the end of the meeting the sides emphasized the necessity of strengthening the contacts between the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Economic Chamber of Austria for further development of Kazakh-Austrian beneficial cooperation.
